There Are Countless Women and Children Being Abused Every Day

Gender-Based Violence

South Africa has one of the highest rates of gender-based violence in the world.
According to the South African Police Service, more than 100 rapes are reported to authorities every day.

Research suggests that only a fraction of sexual assaults are reported, indicating that the actual number could be much higher.
The World Health Organization estimates that one in three women in South Africa has experienced physical or sexual violence in their lifetime.

Child Abuse

Child abuse is a significant problem in South Africa, with millions of children at risk of violence, exploitation, and neglect.

According to a study by UNICEF, more than one-third of South African children have experienced some form of violence before the age of 18.

Child sexual abuse is particularly prevalent, with many cases going unreported due to stigma, fear, and lack of awareness.
