Accommodation
The home has 14 rooms, and can house 20 people. We provide 3 meals per day, and ensure children go to school.
There is a TV room, and there are spaces where the children can play.
Who we care for
Once a woman has made the decision to leave her toxic situation, she has to lay a charge against her abuser.
Leratong will house the abused women with their children, girls any age but boys under the age of 12.
Families will be housed for six months, but it may be more, depending on circumsatances.
Counselling
A full-time social worker social workers provide comprehensive case management. Emotional support is provided to those escaping violent situations.
The social worker develops personalized recovery plans, which may include counseling, legal assistance, and access to education and job training programs
Abuse survivors are assisted navigate the complex legal system to obtain restraining orders, child custody, and other legal protections.
